Ryan Pagelow has been drawing comic strips for most of his life. His work has appeared in several newspapers, online sites and Mad magazine. When not drawing he is a photographer and lives with his wife, son and daughter in Chicago.
Ryan can be reached at: bunicomic (a) gmail (.) com.
I now draw on a Wacom Mobile Studio Pro. I sketch it first in a light gray layer, then I go over it in a darker gray layer. Then I draw it for real in black on a separate layer and color it. I upload it to Dropbox to then open it on my desktop computer where I then format the comic for print, websites and social media. I used to draw in blue pencil and a Rapidograph pen (.08 nib) on bristol paper and then scan it and color it in Photoshop. Good luck with your comics!
I recently found your strip thanks to webtoons, and I love it. He’s desperate/delusional, depressed and yet lives in his world of rainbows and happy thoughts. Thank you for creating this.
Thanks for reading!
Hi Ryan,
Just wanted to say I’ve been a fan of Buni for sometimes now and I’d like to support you. Any chance of you opening up a Pateron account soon, or do you get a better ‘rate’ via merch sales? Could you let me know one way or other before the merch sale time please?
Also got a plan for an Insta acc too?
Thanks & stay safe!
Thanks for reading Buni! I’m hoping to set up on a Patreon account soon with some exclusive content. I’ve also had an Instagram account for a long time. You can find it at @bunicomic. Thanks again!
Cute!!! I am planning to buy the book soon!
Hey, Ryan, I loved the way your comics brought up the little things in life in a way that really made us smile. Or feel bad for smiling. I have been following Hapi Buni since 2018 but forgot about it until I was scrolling through my webtoon subs recently, and only had 3 episodes left. That was saddening, but also kinda cool to see how I had seen the entirety of an artist’s work at something that so many people enjoyed, so I just wanted to say thanks again for making it.
Thanks!
