This is a literal depiction of the water cycle here on Earth. Raindrops are born in the clouds, fall to the surface, then evaporate back into the clouds. The word ‘spirit’ comes to us from the Latin ‘spiritus’, which means breath or invisible vapor.
@Radu
The raindrops don’t really die, they are recycled and reappear as new raindrops, unaware of their previous existence. (Recall that Buni has died several times, and also does not seem aware of his previous lives.)
There is a deep philosophy in Buni’s world, where inanimate objects often appear to be alive, and living creatures are sometimes depicted as dead meat puppets. (Not a comic for little children, who might not be ready to absorb this kind of knowledge)
So, on one hand, living things are just “objects”, we are all composed of the same 92 natural elements. We are aware of our current existence but, like the raindrops, don’t remember where our molecules came from.
On the other hand, we are different from dead objects, because we have a spirit that animates us, makes us aware of the world and makes us interact with the world and the other objects around us.
Buni’s spirit is very pure, full of curiosity, joy and kindness, but often interacts with less pure spirits, which don’t return his love and kindness.
We can all learn about the life spirit by observing and thinking about Buni (who was missing in today’s comic)
In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti
Oh, that’s why it keeps raining. If only the rain drops would stay on the ground…

This is too much… Rain that dies??? is there anything in this comic that is actually an object and not a living thing?
I believe! In Precipitation!!!
My Science teacher knows nothing about the theory of evaporation!
Johanus, you are the man…
As sonic the hedgehog says, that’s life guys, ups and downs, ups and downs. XD
Well, this is what you expect in a world where almost everything is sentient. Why is the cloud happy?
