The implications of this are STAGGERING. What if other things we’ve seen in the WURLD of BUNI aren’t literal, but just the way characters FEEL? For example, the last one was about a caterpillar who saw butterflies drifting by, and felt dejected that he couldn’t fly yet, when suddenly he achieves flight and seems pleased as punch, which is ironic because far from the joyous achievement of butterflying, he is instead about to be devoured and turned into bird baby-food in the mother bird’s gullet, or crop, or wherever in a bird that happens.
What if that was really just how someone felt about a situation?
Awww!
